Ja’nister Herring is a seasoned community advocate and strategic leader with over 25 years of experience championing the needs of at-risk youth and underserved populations. As Interim Executive Director, she brings a mission-driven approach to Jenkins Youth & Family Village, rooted in a deep-seated commitment to organizational excellence and community empowerment.

Throughout her tenure in the non-profit sector, Ja'nister has held influential board and leadership roles with several prominent organizations, including the PACE Center for Girls, Girl Scouts, and the Deloris Barr Weaver Policy Center. Her leadership extends to local impact through her work with the Charleston (SC) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated, the Lowcountry African American Giving Circle, and Increasing H.O.P.E..
